note	The purpose of this thesis is to point out the polysemy and functions of the verb faire during a specific period in the history of French language: medieval french.as a theoretical starting-point, this thesis uses the psychomecanical notion of subduction, which is the capacity of certain words to be able to decrease their literal senses. It tries to bring out, as clearly as possible, the intermediate stages which appear between the uses of faire as auxiliary verb and those as literal sense verb. Le but de cette thèse est de mette en lumière la Polynésie et la plurifonctionnalité du verbe faire à une époque donnée de l'histoire de la langue française: le français médiéval. Elaborée à partir de la notion psychomécanique de la subduction, c'est-à-dire la capacité qu'ont certains vocables à pouvoir se subtiliser, elle tente de dégager le plus précisément possible les différentes saisies ou stades intermédiaires qui apparaissent entre les emplois de faire comme verbe auxiliaire et ceux comme verbe au sens propre.
