note
| - Surgical anesthesia came in France from USA and was enthusiastically received. The introduction raised up a lot of experiences by numerous surgeons and scientists. After some years the rush fell down. Despite hazards which led to reports and inquiries, surgeons continued with these agents. Anesthesia stagnation was in cause in surgery stagnation. During the Second World War, the French surgeons discovered the great advances of the American surgery and understood the necessity of a good modern and professional anesthesia where intensive care was an important part of the speciality. Nevertheless to obtain an actual status for anaesthesiology, a twenty years long fighting was led by some exceptional anesthesists.
