| - Optimal shape design using classical\" shape optimization tools is now common practice in the industry. Nonetheless, they suppose an assumption about the topology of the final shape. Our aim is to look at another technique, called topological shape optimization, which does not require any hypothesis about the optimal shape. Our method, the topolo-gical asymptotic, is based on a \"gradient type\" information, which is the sensitivity of the cost function with respect to the introduction of infinitely small holes in the computational domain. The context will be Maxwell equations. In the first part, one will try to exhibit an asymptotic expression for infinitely small metallic balls. One will show a discrete equivalent of this information...
