note	The history of the origin of the Sabbath doctrine among Seventh-day Adventist comprises a number of unexpected developments. This denomination, brought forth out of the disintegration of the most important millenarian movement in American history, adopted the seventh-day Sabbath quite rapidly, without major conflict. One wonders if this is not a sign proving that Seventh-day Adventism embraced the Sabbath under the influence of other Christian traditions, rather than as a fruit of its own internal doctrinal development. Our research focused on Puritanism as a possible source... En étudiant les origines de l'adventisme du septième jour on est surpris d'apprendre que ce mouvement, issu du millénarisme millerite américain, s'est intéressé dès ses débuts au septième jour l'adoptant rapidement, sans tensions majeures. Nous nous demandons si l'adventisme n'est redevable à d'autres traditions chrétiennes pour sa doctrine du sabbat. Notre recherche s'est surtout penchée sur la filière puritaine...
