This country is renoved since the emperor Charles Quint. In the year 1678, by the conquest, the King of France, Louis XIV, inherits of the horse Comtois. King's administration, through intendants and a specialised staff, tries to produce a horse-war in a country which needs a peace-horse for food and trade. The country breeding emerges and prevents the royal project to develop the production and the improvement of the Comtois, which may be considered as an other horse of enlightenment
