Les objectifs sont de mieux cerner les crit\u00E8res qui r\u00E9gissent les al\u00E9as \u00E9rosion et submersion, et les changements morphologiques ayant lieux sur les plages et les avant-c\u00F4tes sableuses \u00E0 la suite de tels \u00E9v\u00E8nements. Une analyse des temp\u00EAtes historiques en L-R d\u00E9gage les principaux crit\u00E8res d\u2019une temp\u00EAte qui s\u2019av\u00E8rent morphog\u00E8nes ou \u00AB \u00E0 risque \u00BB. Un suivi tr\u00E8s intensif des \u00E9pisodes de fortes vagues et des \u00E9volutions sur le Lido de S\u00E8te \u00E0 Marseillan montre ensuite l\u2019importance de l\u2019\u00E9tat morphologique du prisme sableux. Les bancs de sables proches de la plage contr\u00F4lent la dissipation de la houle et la courantologie sur l\u2019avant-c\u00F4te, ainsi que le d\u00E9placement d\u2019importants volumes de sable. Ces morphologies \u00E9voluent diff\u00E9remment en fonction de leurs formes initiales, et dictent aussi fortement les zones \u00E9rod\u00E9es et submerg\u00E9es sur la plage lors de la temp\u00EAte. "This work investigates the main morphodynamic processes that occur during storms on a microtidal barred beach (including erosion, flooding), typically influenced by an irregular stormy- wave climate. The overriding question is to define the more important settings involved in the (rapid) morphological response of the beach and shoreface. New regional historical analyses demonstrate the principal influence of storm wave height, determining impact levels (importance of run-up elevation). Big storm events are significantly involved in offshore migration of nearshore bars (N.O.M. cycles). A large fieldwork campaign was conducted at the Lido of S\u00E8te in the Gulf of Lions. More than 20 pre- and post-storm surveys show the respective part of hydrodynamic conditions and steady morphological difference in term of nearshore bar which are either longshore uniform or rhythmic (due to NOM) over 4. Storms quickly modify the nearshore bar (and rhythmic patterns), and relocate large volume of sub-water sand, with a significant role of the wave direction and longshore currents. An intensive hydrodynamic campaign and a numerical circulation model clearly demonstrate the direct influence of bar patterns on surf zone currents in addition to wave settings. A new video monitoring during a storm group introduce the progressive but highly dynamic 3D-morphological change and longshore displacement of bar pattern at storm peak. During storm, bar irregularities have a large effect on sub-aerial beach impact. The predominant role of morphological feedback and inherited morphology (e.g.: pre-storm bar wavelength) is clearly demonstrated and constitutes the leading improvement of this work." .
