. "2023" . . . . "Nourrissons -- Maladies" . "Text" . "Acceptability of infant’s rotavirus vaccination by their parents" . . "Introduction: Rotavirus are responsible of most of gastro enteritis cases on children below 5 years old. Since 2022, Rotavirus vaccination is recommended and refund for all infants age between 6 weeks and 6 months. The goal of this study was to assess vaccine’s parents acceptability by finding the different factor that could influence them to vaccine their children against Rotavirus. Methodology: This is an observational study that asked infant’s parents below 6 months with a questionnaire. Results: 98 parents were included, among whom 63.3% reported accepting anti-rotavirus vaccination, and 25.5% did not accept it. Parents who expressed general support for vaccination significantly accepted anti-rotavirus vaccination as well. Prior knowledge of Rotavirus infections and the vaccine was also a criterion for acceptability. Reimbursement, formulation, French and global recommendations, and encouragement from the general practitioner were also significant motivating factors. Concerns related to the risk of acute intestinal intussusception were often bypassed through clear information provided to the parents. Discussion: Anti-rotavirus vaccination appears to be accepted by a significant number of parents, provided that they receive information and encouragement from their doctor. Conclusion: The new vaccination recommendation and its reimbursement will change the practices of doctors by promoting parental information and vaccine recommendations. The development of informational support and prevention campaigns will support their work by increasing vaccination adhesion." . . "Thèses et écrits académiques" .
